George Butler is the son of Cotswold artist Amanda Cooper.  He has been to some pretty hairy places like Afghanistan and Syria to draw the people and places and their stories.  Proceeds will be divided between All Saints’, Shorthampton, St Mary’s, Charlbury and the charity which George set up with some friends – The Hands Up Foundation – which helps people in Syria so badly affected by the awful events there.

Tickets £12.50, to include a glass of wine and nibbles before the talk, from art@amandacooper.co.uk

Commotio is excited to perform for the first time in Chadlington, with internationally renowned composer and choral expert, Bob Chilcott. Following the success of their last joint project, The Rose in the Middle of Winter CD, which topped the Classical Specialist Chart in 2013, Commotio will be recording a new CD with Bob Chilcott later this year.

Highlighting the versatility of Chilcott’s work, Commotio will perform both a capella works and with acclaimed jazz pianist Alexander Hawkins and jazz trio.

Commemorating 400 years since Shakespeare’s death, Commotio will breathe new life into Shakespeare’s familiar words with contemporary choral settings by Leslie, Hyde, Larsen and Łukaszewski. Following hot on the heels of the American premiere, Commotio will sing the European Premiere of Bob Chilcott’s Ophelia, Caliban and Miranda in which poet Charles Bennett gives new voice to Shakespeare’s much loved characters in this choral-jazz fusion.

Join Bob Chilcott and Commotio for a fantastic evening of world-class contemporary choral music, including the opportunity to meet one of Britain’s most celebrated contemporary composers!
