6.30 pm at St. Kenelm’s Church, Enstone

We love Baptisms in the Chase Benefice!
Recently, we had a very special one at Holy Trinity Church, Ascott-under-Wychwood for 11-month-old twins, Samuel and Isaac. They were born three months premature, weighing just 2lb 12oz and 3lb, and spent the first two months of their lives in hospital. Since then, Isaac has had another spell in hospital but has recovered well and is now catching up his bigger brother! Continue reading A Special Baptism

After the upheaval and dust of the last six months of work inside St. Kenelm’s Church, the end is in sight of what has turned out to be a 30-year project to safeguard and enhance our beautiful building. All that remains to be done is the final fix of our hidden kitchen; the connection of mains water and drainage, and finally, the installation of our new reredos depicting the life of St. Kenelm in a mosaic of Venetian glass. Christmas is meant to be joyful but in reality life can feel difficult and painful, particularly at this time of year when the nights are long and other people seem to be planning celebrations that are a long way away from how we feel. We know that this can be particularly true for those who have recently lost a loved one.
Our Longest Night service is an opportunity to sing quiet carols, light candles and share our feelings with God. We hope to offer space and time for quietness and reflection, and reassurance that we are not alone even in our darkest and most difficult times. We will look for God’s comfort and hope and the real message of Christmas that comes to shine light into our darkness.
If this time of the year feels a bit empty or hard for you, do join us for a service at Enstone Church on Saturday 21 December at 6.00 pm. The service will last for about 40 minutes.
If you are coming by car, please park in Little Tew Road and walk to the Church through the Churchyard. Do bring a torch!
Should the weather turn wintery and it is necessary to cancel the service, we will post a notice on the Benefice website here.

Join us on Tuesday evenings in Chadlington Memorial Hall for a light supper, fellowship and reflection on + Steven’s Advent Course. Meals are served at 7.00 pm.
